Terciptanya Nabi ADAM (Creation of Prophet Adam)

The Original Version of the Story :

            In the chapter of the first part of the Torah (Kitab Taurat) of Prophet Moses (Nabi Musa),
we read about how God created Man. In this story Man was not tricked by a funny deal because he wanted a long, easy life. It was much more serious than that. God created a beautiful garden

(taman) on earth called Eden with many plants and fruit trees. The Persian word for a king’s pleasure garden gave us the word Paradise, (Firdaus). Centuries later this word came to mean Heaven (Surga). However, the Torah is very clear that the Garden (Firdaus) of Eden was on earth in the area where the Tigris, Euphrates, Gihon and Pishon rivers meet, near (or maybe now under) the Persian Gulf.

            God created Adam (“Man”) and gave him the tack of working as the gardener. But the fruit of one tree, called the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, was forbidden (terlarang) to Adam. God told Adam that if he ate fruit from this tree, he would die. God also created animals, but Adam was lonely. So God made women for him. Adam named her Eve (Hawa). One day Satan, the Devil, (Syaitan, Diablos, Iblis) in the form of a snake came into Eden to trick Eve and Adam. He told them that if they ate the forbidden fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, they would become like God. He also said that God lied about His punishment. They both ate the forbidden fruit, and suddenly realized that they were naked (telanjang). So they wore coverings made of fig leaves to hide their shame (kemaluan). Adam and Eve’s sin was disobedience and trying to become like God.

            When God came to the Garden, they hid from God, but He came to them. When He asked how they knew they were naked, they refused to admit (mengakui) their guilt. Adam blamed (menyalahkan) Eve, and Eve blamed Satan. As punishment to Satan, God caused all snakes to crawl (merangkap) on the ground and be the enemy of Man. Eve and all women would suffer pain when they gave birth to their babies. Adam and all men would have to work hard and sweat to grow enough food for their families. Then God made clothes for Adam and Eve from animal skins and even dressed (mengenakan pakaian pada) them. Adam and Eve had to be expelled (diusir) from Eden, never to return there again. After they had many children, eventually (akhirnya) Adam and Eve died. And so do we all.
